Monday
A couple of recent incidents have given me pause for thought. I lent a book with an interesting and well-reasoned speculation to a friend. She didn’t read the book and returned it with the comment that the theory had been discredited – and proceeded to quote (without acknowledging it) from Wikipedia.
I sent another guy a link to an interesting article; he pooh-poohed it because, according to his Googling, most people thought that the author was wrong.
Both these people had arrived at an opinion based solely upon what ‘most people’ thought.
No wonder it is so hard to disseminate monetary truth to the Gold bugs. Hardly anyone agrees that Gold is money; thus, ipso facto, it isn’t. Case closed.
Western intellect is at a low ebb and heading for the abyss. One hundred years of government controlled school curricula has produced mass idiocy.
