I just pulled out some coins from my pocket to toss into the jar. Isn’t it fascinating that so many years after Gold and silver disappeared from circulation, the larger denomination coins are still a Gold colour, and the smaller denominations still a silver colour?
Our link to the time when real money circulated is still there, but oh so very tenuously. There are no blue or red coins, or any other colour coins in circulation anywhere – that I am aware of. The old copper pennies are still represented by itty-bitty value coins in some countries, but even there the copper is fake; it’s copper coloured zinc.
This YouTube compares fake Gold coins with the real thing. There is a wonderfully simple test to determine whether or not your coin really is Gold and not just Gold-coloured. Go to the latter part of the YouTube where the ping test is performed. The resonance of the ping on a real Gold (or silver) coin is monetary music. The ping test on fake coins produces a non-melodic dull thud.
Fake news is not an orphan. We live in a world of fake coins, fake education, fake sciences and fake values. Get rid of the fake coinage and replace it with the real deal, and all that other fakery will disappear also.
The resonant ping of circulating Gold and silver coins will produce a social symphony.
