Playing at Grown-Ups

January 18, 2018 By Philip Barton

Thursday

The millionaire football kneelers in the US are fighting for a cause, seemingly oblivious to the fact that the battle was won decades ago.

“What they missed is a simple truth that is both obvious and unutterable: The oppression of black people is over with. This is politically incorrect news, but it is true nonetheless. We blacks are, today, a free people.” Shelby Steele

They model themselves on the real black heroes, the real freedom fighters, while taking none of the risks.  They fight the good fight, but stand to lose nothing.  They are poseurs.

In the same manner, modern faux-feminists compare to the real feminist warriors of yesteryear in the manner that Barbie dolls compare to real women – plastic imitations of the real thing.

These people want their lives to have meaning, so they have attached their existence to people whose lives really did have meaning.

They are like children playing at grown-ups.
