Feminism, transgenderism, veganism, counselling, Fame Mania, Warming Phobia, morbidity, and many other affections peculiar to the 21st century, are simply signs of people living empty lives.
Everyone needs something important to give substance to their existence and, in its absence, they will invent it. It is of the essential nature of existence that we have a purpose. To those who have a real purpose, the aforementioned seem indulgent, even nutty, but to their supporters, they are everything.
They are just trying to give meaning to their lives.
Real purposes arise from the struggle for survival – whether at the level of the individual, family, society or humankind in general. The welfare state has fostered the illusion that the struggle for survival is over; that governments will take care of everything. Those that accept this proposition, and there are many, are forced to protest against imaginary injustices and problems. What else is left?
We are on the cusp of a period of great hardship. Real purposes will be one of the few things not in short supply and that is good, because demand will be high.
These are all trivial fads that will pass. As mentioned before, the vegans will end up fighting over dead rats and feminists will be desperately seeking men to provide for them.
Ignore the faddists and stay focused on your own purpose.
