The Spanish Flu of 1918 was famously bad, but there were two other major flus in the 20th century…
1957 Asian flu – 1 to 2 million dead (world population 2.9b)
1968 Hong Kong flu – 1 to 4 million dead (world population 3.6b)
None of those flus caused governments to shut down the economy and force perfectly healthy people to go into isolation. None of those flus resulted in economic collapse. They were rarely front page news.
2019 Wuhan flu – 150,000 dead (world population 7.8b) – say, what?
The Great Panic of 2020 was a pandemic of regulations that closed down western economies and dispensed with human rights. It serves to demonstrate that 21st century governments are more of a threat to human life and liberty than flu.
