I was not aware of Antifa’s history until reading this. My prior reference to their Nazi origins were based on the same appearance, nihilism and ultra-violent tactics.
Antifa really did fight the Nazis at one point. In the 1930s, it was the Antifa brown shirts of the International Socialists (Communists) versus the black shirts of the National Socialists (Nazis).
