There are a number of reasons why the gold to silver ratio will begin to fall this year.
1/ There is a quiet panic slowly building in society. Many people have a visceral sense that something is terribly wrong. They’re right; what passes for money is collapsing. Will Joe Blow charge into gold when he realises that paper money is on its last legs? Most will not; it costs far too much in terms of fiat. Silver is cheaper, thus more accessible. Silver also makes it possible for the new buyer of the monetary metals to dip his or her toe into the water without staying awake all night worrying.
2/ Silver is attractive because those who do a minimum of research will discover that the gold to silver ratio is about 76 to 1 and that the long-term average is around 17 to 1. A belief in reversion to the mean is a powerfully compelling argument for buying silver instead of gold. Does this mean that the ratio cannot go higher? Of course not. Does it mean that it is a good bet that it is going to go lower, much lower, in the long term? Of course it does.
It should be born in mind that the advent of industrial use in the 19th century significantly altered the demand for silver, and thus the gold to silver ratio. Will the ratio return to 17 to 1? Possibly not. Will it drop to a place considerably lower than it is at the moment? Almost certainly yes.
3/ Silver is used by the prepper community to manufacture colloidal silver. Colloidal silver has multiple uses as an antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal. Very little silver is used in the process, so it barely detracts from its investment value.
4/ The agreement of the group. Because of the first three factors, many people already know at least one person who owns silver. This makes them more at ease with the concept of silver ownership. Most of us are far more comfortable joining a group of like-minded individuals than going out on our own.
Swap your dollars for silver now. If you can, sell assets and use the proceeds to buy more silver.
Protect yourself. We are in the calm before the storm. The world is heading into the Mother-Of-All Shitstorms.
Are you ready?
