President Zelensky has caused the death of around 100,000 young Ukrainian men for no good reason whatsoever.
Zelensky could have removed the N.A.T.O. threat from Russia’s border and there would have been no conflict. That pointless belligerence was exacerbated by shelling the Russian speaking civilians of the Donbas. By so doing, he ensured that Russia would eventually intervene. After patiently and thoroughly exploring all other options, in February 2022 they did. The Donbass Militia, some Chechen brigades, the shadowy Wagner Group and Russian Home Guard forces hit back.
The Ukraine military folded when up against an enemy stronger than women and children. By March they were routed but, egged on by N.A.T.O., they persisted in needlessly throwing away lives. Now, the much vaunted support of ‘the West’ has fallen away as the hopelessness of the Ukraine position has become clear.
Why did Zelensky do it? Why did his generals not depose him? They must have understood what ruin he would bring. Did they really believe that they could rely on the perfidious West?
All that is left of the Ukraine ‘offensive’ are token advances into empty and non-strategic territory, lobbing missiles at Europe’s largest nuclear power plant, the bungled bombing of a bridge (it reopened the same day) and a barrage of propaganda from the compliant western media. The autumn rain and resultant mud will soon turn to ice and offer the humiliated Ukraine army the excuse to beat a retreat.
The Donbas is again a part of Russia. The Russian army has entered the fray and the time for a negotiated solution has passed.
President Putin now has the responsibility to pacify the whole of Ukraine and remove it as the threat to world peace that it currently is.
Mad dog Zelensky, and his generals, should be hanged. Doubtless, at the last moment they will flee the country, but there should never be one day for the rest of their miserable lives when they are not looking over their shoulders.
