‘Secret’ talks between the U.S. and Russia have been held in Ankara. Expect a breakthrough, probably before Christmas. The story is simple, the U.S. proxy war against Russia was lost from the moment that it began.
The emergence of the Russian army, not just the Donbas militia, the Wagner Group, some Chechen brigades and Home Guard, changes everything. The ‘intelligence’ of not just the U.S. but of the U.K. completely misread the situation. It appears that they really did believe that the Russian economy would collapse and that they could move in and take over the Russian oilfields.
Well, it didn’t, and, by late November/early December the well trained and equipped Russian army will be involved and the failure of the U.S./N.A.T.O. proxy war will be clear for all to see.
On top of the Afghanistan debacle, it is a mortal blow to U.S. prestige. The invincible might and threat of the U.S. military is no more.
As for the N.S.A. and the C.I.A., they must be disbanded and rebuilt from the top down. In the U.K., the death of Queen Elizabeth and the collapse of the economy, 75 years after the collapse of the Empire, signals the end of any lingering significance in world affairs.
At least 100,000 young Ukrainian men have been slaughtered in an entirely unnecessary war.
Will the Russians even bother listening to the desperate U.S.? What is there to gain when the Americans have demonstrated for the last forty years that they cannot be trusted to keep their word? The Russians will continue to consolidate their western border area.
It is the end of Fukuyama’s ‘end of history’.
It is the end of the post-WW2 world order.
