If Farage really does re-enter U.K. politics then Rishi Sunak’s leadership of the U.K. will be as temporary as so many of his predecessors. Successive prime ministers have refused to implement the policies that they were elected on. The years/decades of political cynicism that has built up in the electorate could well gush forth as a torrent of support for Farage.
It is too late to change the consequences of 75 years of inept (one could use a worse word) Treasury policies, but at least the electorate would get to see many of the time-serving, smug and sanctimonious bastards (from all parties) kicked out of parliament.
Could Farage really win? The longer it is until there is another election, the worse the economy will become and the more resentment against the politicians that brought it about there will be, and the greater the chance of a massive protest vote.
He is a proven campaigner and his message will resonate with many of the electorate from all parties.
If Farage does mount his warhorse and sound the battle cry, then the Conservatives will bring back Boris quick-smart. Sunak is a dull apparatchik with the charisma and leadership skills of an underweight steamed dumpling.
