It should be clear by now, even to politicians, that it is impossible to replace the world’s 1.46 billion petrol driven vehicles with E.Vs. Just one of the problems is that it would require 282.6 million tonnes of Li-Ion batteries (HERE).
Currently available alternative sources of energy could not come close to producing the electricity necessary to power the E.Vs.
So why are the West’s politicians pushing ahead with the scheme?
I don’t believe that this can be explained with the obvious “they are stupid and the idea will collapse and they will move on to chasing some other hare-brained scheme”.
Far more likely is that even politicians can understand this – that in the pursuit of their anti-carbon obsession they are well aware that it is an impractical vision.
The most likely explanation is that the real plan is to remove private transport from hoi polloi. They want to doom us all to a future of travelling on public transport.
Much easier to control us if we cannot just up and leave whenever we feel like it.
