“Apparently our government is struggling to finance our social security and pension system, so money needs to be found where it is, which is in billions in companies like LVMH“
Fabien Villedieu from the Sud-Rail unions.
This quote referenced the storming, looting and vandalism of LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy) in Paris by those protesting the lifting of the retirement age.
The stupidity of the quote is profound.
It is also a warning.
Business has been the most direct victim of the absurd government overreach that has seen Peak Regulation which has almost overwhelmed the ability of business to make a profit.
The greatest profit goes to the business that best serves the needs and wants of consumers – you and I. The only exception to that is when governments favour certain businesses with monopoly status or special handout treatment or a number of other ways that they distort and destroy markets.
We are on the verge of a backlash. Business is broken and, accordingly, unemployment is rising, along with prices. Unrest is growing. Paris is a taste of what is to come in what used to be known as Western Civilization (it could just be called ‘Civilization’ because there is no other)
However, governments are adept at pointing the finger elsewhere and, as evidenced by the quote from the thick-headed twit at the top of this article, that is not hard to do.
Instead of pitchforks and torches proceeding to parliament house, people are being indoctrinated to fight each other (divide and rule).
The victims are businesses and consumers. So, the best strategy for maintaining control is to set them one against the other. Then one can campaign on a ‘law and order’ platform and win plaudits from the well-meaning folk. Never mind that it was politicians who brought about the disorder in the first place.
The point to focus on is the common enemy – government.
But it won’t happen; the general I.Q. level has fallen too far.
If you look like you have any wealth at all, then the road ahead is going to be – euphemistically – rocky.
Live modestly, dress modestly. Flash houses and/or cars will be a red flag to a bull.
Almost as bad as the envy mobs will be the government looking to confiscate anything that isn’t hidden from sight.
